RE:
Use Determination - Pawn Shop (Three Balls on the Mountain)
DATE:
December 9, 1976
This is a request for a use determination by Polly Daly for a Pawn
Shop to be called "Three Balls on the Mountain", The use will be
located in the Hotel Jerome first floor space, adjacent to
"Green River" and will consist of buying, selling, trading and
holding in pawn, new and antique merchandise. The property is
zoned CC,
The CC zone allows retail sales and financial institutions as permitted
uses. The Planning Office feels that a pawn shop, 'in fact, is a use
compatible with CC uses and recommend a finding by the Planning and
Zoning Commission that this is a permitted use in the CC zone.

Dear Hal:
Following up our pleasant talk this morning, here
for the record are our plans for a new business venture
in the Hotel Jerome.
The business will consist of buying, selling, trad-'
ing and holding in ,.va new and antique merchandise of
qualiuy, a usage whiCh seems clearly consisteau with the
Retail alul FiAaacial "CC" zGlning of the Hotel Jerome shops.
I've talked at leRgth with Martin Hershey ud Dave
Garms of the Police ~part:ment, and made arrangemeRus with
them of how we'll report details of the merchandise we
take in; ud they in. return have agreed to keep us alerted
as te any goods uhey may be uracing dova.
Our plans were also discussed with John Gilmore of
uhe, Jerome, who only rented us our space after _ing
fully apprised of the usage we intended, and agreeing
uhat it would fit in excellently with the quality of the
adjacent shops.
Partners iR the venture will _ George Janecek,
who already operates the shop "Green River" in the Hotel
Jerome; ,and Lorenzo Semple Jr. Qf AspeD, who will _ our
prillcipal :backer. If you care to, by all means check
Lorenzo's finucial responsibility with Harvey Hoff au
the Bank of Aspea, and for personal reference you might
call on Judge John Nendu. '
Thau's abouu all I can think of. We've bought
fixtures ud such and hope U<i) open areuad December 15th.
I u ticipa te ae problems, but if there's anythiag further
YOU'd like to know before that date, please don't hesi-
tate to call on us.
