piscopal Church Addition 0 MEMORANDUM to TO: Aspen Planning Commission FROM: Planning Staff (HC) RE: Conditional Use Hearing: Episcopal Church Expansion DATE: September 17, 1976 This is a public hearing to consider a request by the Episcopal Church for permission to expand the existing church, which is located on Lots 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15, Block 99, Hallam Addition. Churches are a conditional use in the R-6 zone. The addition consists of a two story building of approximately 1,760 square feet in size. The use of the new space will be for a chapel, pastor's office, sacristy, kitchen, vestment and classroom areas. On September 1, 1976, notices of the request were sent to property owners within 300 feet of the church property. A copy of the building plans for the proposed expansion will be available at the Planning and Zoning Commission hearing. The comments of the Planning Office are as follows: 1. The proposed uses are accessory to the existing principal use of a church. 2. The expansion will not use up any area now used for church parking. The church proposes to expand its parking area in the future, when funds are available for paving. 3. A pine tree and several Aspen trees will be relocated by the church as a result of the building expansion. 4. The Planning Office recommends approval of the conditional use request for expansion of the Episcopal Church. • Gam. This is being forwarded in order to satisfy the necessary Planning & Zoning regulations whereby we will be permitted to make the small addition to the now existing church. I would appreciate your placing me on the Agenda as soon as possible so that we may get along with construction of the addition prior to intense snows. Best regards i Edward W.
