Mall lease standards. 10:00 IV. Adjourn THOUGHTS ON THE MALL ENTERTAINMENT SUMMER 2010 Very successful Many people came in anticipation of entertainment A large following People came for entertainment, went to eat in local restaurants and came back for more. Many people asked me how it was we were there and were very excited and impressed to hear that the City of Aspen had hired us. Brought to you by the City of Aspen needs to be visible We need advertising — newspaper, local TV What about corporate sponsors? If we had more money, we could bring in other acts. I was contacted by some high end out of town performers this summer who were interested in coming to Aspen. Possibility of placing a more permanent stage, with shelter from the sun Could be used by others — Jazz fest, bands, library story hour, kid's theatre productions, etc. The Wagner Park Family Theatre. Possibility of other performance locations — across from Paradise, and the Gondola Plaza Other types of entertainment — comedian, etc. at different times in different places. Big question — Liability. Who is responsible? Does the City carry a policy for these kinds of things? Should all performers be registered with the City? What about out of- towners like the Boulder Jugglers who came and set up in the mall and did a very unsafe show? How can we make sure we are covered, and that Kidtoons isn't liable for everyone?
