Adjourn 1 Kathy Strickland From: Mark Goodman [ mgoodman @markrichardsaspen.com] Sent: Wednesday, November 17, 2010 1:11 AM To: Kathy Strickland; 'Andrew Kole'; 'Bill Dinsmoor'; 'Don Sheeley'; 'Fred Ayarza'; 'John Starr'; 'Mark Zitelli'; 'Terry Butler' Subject: RE: meeting tomorrow All: I just want to express a few views regarding the Saturday Market. I think we need another agricultural booth on Hyman to make it work. I went to the Paonia Mountain Festival this past Fall and came across some very nice growers who would love the opportunity to come to the Aspen Saturday Market. I heard a consensus that Hyman was the weakest street in the market. I think the store fronts on Hyman should only get one booth, not a double booth. I thought that Little Annie's had too much space; however I don't know the economics of running a restaurant. It might not be worth the setup if they don't have enough tables. I would like to hear Bill Dinsmoor's view on this matter. Regarding raising the fees: I have no problem raising the very low fee. The question is how we will budget the money. I personally was disappointed with the ACRA booth. I have a hard time believing that there weren't more Aspen businesses that would want to take a booth. I think even though the fee is low we need to get a check when they reserve the booth with a letter explaining our policy that not showing up at the last minute is unacceptable. I was encouraged with the 501(C) 3 booths. It was great to see so many non - profits at the market. Sorry I could not be at this meeting. I'll be back in Aspen Thanksgiving Weekend. This is not based on size of space, which I recommend we don't get into. $63 represents 14% of the current fee. I suggest we use 28% or double based on the fact they are getting their space basically for free - 28% would come out to $126. Based on 18 weeks we are at $7.00 per week - ADKoIe - •
