MINUTES OF JANUARY 5, 2011
Vice- chair, Mark Goodman called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m.
Commissioners in attendance were: Bill Dinsmoor, Andrew Kole, Mark
Goodman, Fred Ayarza, Don Sheeley. Terry Butler arrived at 8:45. John
Starr and Mark Zitelli were excused.
Staff: Kathy Strickland, Chief Deputy Clerk
12 days of Aspen
Andrew said Nancy Lesley hired Tammy Barr to coordinate the event.
Bill said it was a carbon copy of last year and suggested something new and
exciting for next year.
Andrew said it was a good 12 days of Aspen. Well done by Nancy Lesley.
Bill commented that we need a larger retail buy -in for next year. Bill
requested staff to contact Nancy to give an update at the next meeting.
Kathy said Nancy is on the agenda and will report on the Quizno bike race
that Lance Armstrong is hosting.
No plastic bottled water in Aspen
Don mentioned that Torre is working on the idea of no plastic bottles of
water in Aspen.
Bill said the notion of reducing consumables is a good idea. People put
water in bottles.
Don said the Ski Company is also behind it.
Don suggested havins Torre and someone from the Environmental Health
Dept. come in the 19` meeting.
The board also discussed affordable housing and the need for Burlingame
affordable housing.

The board suggested for the next meeting to have the applications split up
between new and reapplying. Also have a category of marginal. Special
meeting January 12
