MINUTES OF JULY 6, 2011
Chairperson, Andrew Kole called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m.
Commissioners in attendance were Bill Dinsmoor, Don Sheeley and Fred
Ayarza. Excused were Siam Castillo and Terry Butler.

Ducky Derby
John Olson, Rotarian requested permission to sell ducks in front of Guidos.
There will be two 10 x 10 tents. T -shirts and ducks will be sold.
Merchandise will be contained in the tents.
Bill asked about the hours. John said noon till 8:00.
John said many people think the money should go to non - profits overseas
but I feel it should go to the local non - profits. We make $200,000 in selling
ducks and $100,000 in sponsorships. $100,000 is sold by the kids.
John said $60,000 goes to rotary international.
The ducks are sold for $5:00 each. John said junior golf got involved last
year and 240 kids got into the junior golf academy.
MOTION: Don moved to approved the Ducky Derby and the selling of
ducks for the time period requested (3wks); second by Fred. All in favor,
motion carried 4 -0.
Andrew suggested they contact the fire department to make sure they know
where the fire lane is. They should also check with Environmental Health
and the Water Department to see if the kids can sell bottles.
Fred said the city has not figured out what is exactly needed in order to sell
the water bottles. More stations are needed.
Andrew said the fountains need to be on the corners. They need to sell
naming rights and sponsorships.

Kale from LacrousStreeb will do the presentation at the work session July
18
Kale pointed out that there are soft costs, hard costs and installation costs.
The hard costs are around $150,000.
Sarah Kreider, LacrouxStreeb said you could adjust the acorn lights on the
street polls.
The board discussed the memo and went over how the presentation should
occur.
Kale Lacrous said he will have the numbers ready for the meeting.
Commissioner comments
Don reported that the Gisella and Asie have their tables and chairs out in the
sidewalk. CCLC should take over the review process for mall leases and
outside dining.
Bill pointed out that there is merchandise out on the sidewalks everywhere.
Enforcement needs to occur.
Meeting adjourned at 10:00 a.m.
