A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO,
GRANTING A HISTORIC PROPERTY MAINTENANCE LOAN TO MICItAEL HULL,
OWNER OF 834 W. HALLAM STREET
WHEREAS, Section 26.415.040.D of the Aspen Municipai Code provides City Council
with the ability to grant a one-time, no interest loan, in an amount not to exceed $10,000, to the
owner of a historic property to assist in maintenance costs; and
WHEREAS, Michael HUll, owner of the historic proper~y at 834 W. Hailam Street, has
requested a loan in order to repaint and re-roof the house, a designated landmark; and
WHEREAS, the project cost will be a minimum of $10,000; and
WHEREAS, City Council supports the loan award in an effort to assist owners of
historic properties with the associated maintenance costs and in order to avoid the
occurrence of "demolition by neglect."
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ASPEN, COLORADO, THAT:
Section 1
A one-time, no interest loan in the amount of $10,000 is awarded to Michael Hull, owner of
834 W. Hailam Street.
Section 2
The applicant shall provide the Community Development Director with receipts from all
work completed as part of this loan.
Section 3
The loan is to be repaid in full within ten years or when the title is transferred, whichever is sooner.
An appropriate lien will be recorded on the property to ensure repayment, and the owner is aware
of this recorded lien requirement.
