HomeMy WebLinkAboutresolution.hpc.007-2012 RESOLUTION OF THE ASPEN HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION (HPC) MAKING A RECOMMENDATION TO ASPEN CITY COUNCIL REGARDING THE PROPOSED CODE AMENDMENT TO THE COMMERCIAL CORE HISTORIC DISTRICT RESOLUTION NO. 7, SERIES OF 2012 PARCEL ID: N/A. WHEREAS, Aspen City Council directed Staff to propose code amendments to reduce the height of buildings in the Commercial Core Historic District; and, WHEREAS, the Commercial Core Historic District was listed on the Aspen Inventory of Historic Landmark Sites and Structures via City Council Ordinance number 49, series of 1974; • and, WHEREAS, the Aspen Historic Preservation Commission expressed concern over the height of mechanical equipment on the rooftops; and, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That HPC recommends by a vote of 4 to 1 that the Aspen City Council support the Staff recommendation.to amend the Commercial Core Zone District Aspen Land Use Code as follows: 1. Maintain the existing floor to floor storefront height requirement. • 2. Amend the height requirement to be a range between 34 feet to 38 feet. 3. Allow three story buildings.
