This is a public hearing to consider a rezoning of 58,604 square feet
of property from Service/Commercial/Industrial, (SCI), Special District
to just SCI. The property is commonly known as the Mill Street Venture
and is located immediately to the north of the Rio Grande Subdivision
(Trueman Property).
The Planning Office has initiated this zoning change due to the
practical inequities involved in having special district zoning overlay
properties in different ownerships ie. Mill Street Venture and the
Trueman property. The Special District requires a plan for all the
property area in the zone before development approval. Therefore,
we recommend that the Special District zone be removed from the Mill
Street Venture property.
