A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ASPEN,
COLORADO, GRANTING APPROVAL FOR BANNERS TO BE PLACED IN
CITY RIGHTS-OF-WAY CELEBRATING FOOD AND HE MAGAZINE
CLASSIC AS ASPEN
WHEREAS, there is a request from the Aspen Chamber Resort Association on
behalf of the Food and Wine Magazine Classic at Aspen to allow banners on Main
Street light posts to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Food and Wine Event in
Aspen; and
WHEREAS, the Aspen City Council adopted Resolution 118, Series of 2001,
approving the policies regarding signage on public property; and
WHEREAS, Section IV, Banners and Flags on Main Street Light Posts of that
Policy permits banners for significant anniversaries (25th, 50th, 75th and 100th) and
Section (I) states any exceptions from this requirement shall require City Council
review and approval; and
WHEREAS, City Council finds the FoOd and Wine Magazine Classic is an
event of importance to the entire community and therefore grants permission to install
banners on light posts in the city rights-of-way from June 10 to 17, 2002; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO, THAT:
Section 1
The banners requested by the Aspen Chamber Resort Association to celebrate
the 20th Anniversary of FoOd and Wine Magazine Classic at Aspen may be installed in
the city rights-of-way June l 1, 2002 and removed June 17, 2002.
Section 2
All applicants shall Pay the proposed installation fee of $6.00 per banner as
established in the 2000 City fee schedule.
APPROVED by the Aspen City Council as its regular meeting JanuaryS2002.
