TO ALL PROPERTY OWNERS AFFECTED BY THE REQUESTED ZONING OR USE VARIANCE
DESCRIBED BELOW:
Pursuant to the Official Code of Aspen of June 25, 1962, as amended,
a public hearing will be held in the SECOND FLOOR MEETING ROOM, City
Hall, Aspen, Colorado, (or at such other place as the meeting may be
then adjourned) to consider an application filed with the said Board
of Adjustment requesting authority for variance from the provisions of
the Zoning Ordinance, Chapter 24, Official Code of Aspen. All persons
affected by the proposed variance are invited to appear and state their
views, protests or obj ections. If you cannot appear personally at such
meeting, you are urged to state your views by letter, particularly if
you have objection to such variance, as the BOard of Adjustment will
give serious consideration to the opinions of surrounding property
owners and others affected in deciding whether to grant or deny the

RE: VARIANCE REVIEW: 1490 SILVERKING DRIVE, ASPEN. CO
On June 16, 1994, the board reviewed and denied a request by John and Kay Miller, the
owners of this property, to build a new garage and drive through porte cochere on land
within the front and side yard setbacks.
At the suggestion of the Board, the Miller's have devised a plan which incorporates these
elements within all property setbacks, however, the front entry eve can only cover 18' of
the front porch. A request is made in this application to extend the roof only, an additional
30' to cover the porch. We appreciate your thoughtful consideraton.

Dear Mr. Lavagnino,
I am the owner of Unit 2B Timber Ridge, 100 E. Dean Street. The
zoning restrictions regarding projections into yards, etc. Sec. 3-101
are reasonable and important. I do not think that a variance for this
project should be granted. If there is legitimate extenuating
circumstances such that the projection might require a few inches
greater than thirty (30) that might be acceptable but certainly not
more than that and not a blanket approval.
