Job C,.~l.pt.::.i.i n Bill Pos~~ and H~SOC).;{y_=~ /'" ~!~.. .. ~- ---- BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT Enablinq Leqislation section 2-18 to Section 2-22, city of Aspen Municipal Code Meetinqs Meetings are scheduled by the cler};' s office upon being given cases from the building department. f.pplicants generally have been denied a building permit because of some section in the zoning code. The Board of Adjustment is the only appeal vehicle. Meetings are scheduled for 4:00 p.m. Thu~sdays. Before a meeting can be scheduled, public notices have to be mailed ;nd a sign posted on the property. This office supplies the signs on blueprints which are done by the engineering department. Public notices require 10 or 15 days; 15 days if there is a condominium C~ a government property involved. See Section 2-22 for q"estions. The applicant is required to supply a list of property owners. The information for both your notice and the sign comes off the application supplied by the building department. e~t ~ There are five regular membe~s and two alternate members to the Board of Adjustment. Fc~r concurring votes are needed to grant a variance. Applicants should know that in case there are only four members present. There is a comprehensive list of Board of Adjustments cases by year with their disposition. Board cases are in the vault 25BA in chronological order.
