Dear Board Hembers:
We endorse the Aspen Resort Association's request for placement of their
attractive sidewalk sign identifying the Hyman Avenue entrance to the
Wheeler Opera House as a place for tourist information and ticket sales.
The standing traffic signs which are too high for pedestrians to see and
which face the opposite side of the street seem ineffective to us. Vis-
itors walking in either direction on Hyman Avenue would be able to see
the sidewalk sign readily. Further, the presence of the sign during
office hours advises visitors quickly that the Visitors', Center and the
Box Office are open.
We feel that the sidewalk sign is both attractive and effective. We hope
that you will consider the Aspen Resort Association's request to use this
sign.
