BEFORE THE CITY OF ASPEN BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
TO ALL PROPERTY OHNERS AFFECTED BY THE REQUESTED ZONING OR USE VARIANCE
DESCRIBED BELOl'/:
Pursuant to the Official Code of Aspen of June 25, 1962, as amended, a
public hearing will be held in the Council Room, City Hall, Aspen, Colorado,
(or at such other place as the meeting may be then adjourned) to consider
an application filed with the said Board of Adjustment requesting authority
for variance from the provisions of the Zoning Ordinance, Chapter 24,
Official Code of Aspen. All persons affected by the proposed variance
are invited to appear and state their views, protests or objections.
If you cannot appear personally at such meeting, then you are urged to
state :Jour viells by letter, particularly if you have objection to such
variance, as the Board of Adjustment will give serious consideration to
the opinions of surrounding property owners and others affected in deciding
whether to grant or deny the request for variance.

Dear Members of the Board of Adjustment;
I I hereby request your consideration of my application to
construct a small roof structure over the side entrance to my
single-family home at 612 W. Francis Street (Block 21, Lot Pl.
The addition will cover approximately 52 square feet and extend
into the five (5) foot side yard setback requirement of the
Residential Six (R 6) zoning category of the Aspen Municipal
Zoning Code. The reason for my request is to eliminate the
potentially dangerous ice buildup. that occurs at the side
entrance during winter months and to avoid the most severe
conditions that occurred last winter when the entrance became
unuseable.

I have submitted the following information to explain my
request and to further document the need for such a roof
structure.
o Drawings of the proposed roof structure
o Names and addresses of adjacent property owners
o A recent official improvements survey that documents the
relationship of my house to the property lines.
o A letter from the adjacent property owner stating her
approval of my request.
I will attend the meeting at which you will consider by request
in order to answer any questions.
