(Regarding Request For Variance)
I hereby swear that on Thursday, March 31, 1983 at
3 P.M. a sign containing the information required by
Section 2-22(c)(3) of the Aspen Code (which blank sign
was previously provided by the Clerk) was covered in
plastic and nailed to the door of the existing garage
at the 100 West Hallam residence in Aspen, Colorado.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

BEFORE THE CITY OF ASPEN BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
TO ALL PROPERTY OWNERS AFFECTED BY THE REQUESTED ZONING OR USE VARIANCE
DESCRIBED BELOW:
Pursuant to the Official Code of Aspen of June 25, 1962, as amended, a
public hearing will be held in the Council Room, City Hall, Aspen, Colo-
rado, (or at such other place as the meeting may be then adjourned) to
consider an application filed with the said Board of Adjustment requesting
authority for variance from the provisions of the Zoning Ordinance, Chapter
24, Official Code of Aspen. All persons affected by the proposed variance
are invited to appear and state their views, protests or objections. If
you cannot appear personally at such meeting, then you are urged to state..
yo~views by letter, particularly if you have objection to such variance,
as the Board of Adjustment will give serious consideration to the opinions
of surrounding property owners and others affected in deciding whether to
grant or deny the request for variance.

The residence and garage are historically notable and one of the few remaining
West End unadulterated Victorians. Our intentions are to improve and upgrade
without altering or basta,dizing th~ uniqueness of,Aspen of ,~steryear.
The old garage is badly in need of a cemplete rejuvenation: In accomplishing
this, it seem~ practical, without changing its silhouette, to retain its
original purpose as an -enclosure for carriages. Today,.our Mode' of transporta-
.tion requires larger areas; .thus,' this request for enlargement.

The existing garage extends into the 5' side yard
set back +/- 3'. We are asking for a 12' extension
of the garage, as indicated on the plans, along the
same line of the existing encroachment.
