DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED EXCEPTION SH0l1ING JUSTIFICATImIS: I am requestin9 setback exception for this property for the following reasons: In order to achieve the needed interior space for my new family and to minimize the footprint and the mass of the structure, and to maintain the existing flat roof look, it is necessary to build the second floor utilizing the existing walls for structural support. In order to comply with the request of the Building Dept. we would have to redesign the building mass to the west, change the roof line, remove some very lovely existing fOliage and drastically change the character of the corner in a manner that will diminish the value of the neighboring property. I have designed this with the intention of complying with the City's intent to maintain a lower level of visual impact and to build a structure that is in keeping with the lot- and the neighboring houses.
