DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED EXCEPTION SHOHING JUSTIFICATHlNS: I want to add
an additional bedroom and bath to my single family home at the above address.
The lot area is 4500 sq. ft. and therefore, the house is a non-conforming
use. The present lot and a half was created in 1960 when lot 1) and W~ of
lot E was sold to a Francis Higbie by Albert and Nadine.:rq~~!'lon ~~q53#J.en,**10.00
sold E~ of lot E, F, G, to a Clyde Bowlby. This conveyance was in violation
of the zoning (6000 sq. ft. minimum lot size) code. I purchased the house
and lot in 1975 and was unaware of its non-conforming status. I had always
thought that the expansion of a single family house was permitted by right.
If the lot was subdivided prior to 1956, I could expand. The 1960 subdivision
was illegal act that occurred 17 years ago. I am a~king for relief in
the form of a variance.

public hearing will be held in the Council Room, City Hall, Aspen, Colo-

Re: Application for Variance by Rick Head
Dear Mr. Patterson amd Members of the Board;
I live across the street from Rick Head at
500 W. Bleeker and have talked with him about
his proposed addition and have seen his plans.
The existing house is quite small and the
proposed addition will not alter the appearance
of the lot. The addition will definitely im-
prove the appearance of the house and will be
an asset to the neighborhood.
Therefore, I would like to go on record as
being in favor of granting the variance.
