Application is made for a building pennit to build an addition to an
existing dwelling. The proposed addition will have a side yard of 3.65 feet.

Gentlemen:
The proposed exception contains in whole an addition to the present
studio apartment adjoining the main house. It is my desire to
eliminate the studio as it exists and to make it an integral part
of the house. To do so will necessitate eliminating the only closet
presently in the studio. This closet must be eliminated to provide
access to the studio from the main house. Presently, the studio is
only accessible by exiting the main house through an exterior door
and then entering the studio through an exterior door. This
presents an untenable situation as it will separate me from my
children's rooms.
The building is presently located 5.65 feet from the property line
which by Code requires a 5-foot setback. I wish to extend the back
wall of the studio to provide a closet with a depth of 2'0". This
would necessitate an encroachment into the required setback of
approximately 18". Both houses are presently separated by a fence
approximately 6'0" with no view plane interruption being caused by
this addition. No windows will be installed in the exterior walls.

Longet has applied for a variance from the Board of
Adjustment for a building permit to build an addition
to an existing dwelling. The meeting which was
scheduled for June 3, 1976 at 4:00 p.m. has been
cancelled due to a lcak of a quorum. The Board will
meet again on June l7, 1976, at 4:00 p.m. in the
City Council Chambers to discuss this variance
request.
