BEFORE THE CITY OF ASPEN BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
TO ALL PROPERTY OWNERS AFFECTED BY THE REQUESTED ZONING OR USE VARIANCE
DESCRIBED BELOW:
Pursuant to the Official Code of Aspen of June 25, 1962, as amended, a
public hearing will be held in the Council. Room, City Hall, Aspen, Colo-
rado, (or at such other place as the meeting may be then adjourned) to
consider an application filed with the said Board of Adjustment requesting
authority for variance from the provisions of the Zoning Ordinance, Chapter
24, Official Code of Aspen. All persons affected by the proposed variance
are invited to appear and state their views, protests or objections. If
you cannot appear personally at such meeting, then you are urged to state,
yorrviews by letter, particularly if you have objection to such variance,
as the Board of Adjustment will give serious consideration to the opinions
of surrounding property owners and others affected in deciding whether to
grant or deny the request for variance.

Attention: Zoning Committee, Board of Adjustment
Subject: Case No. 74-29
Gentlemen:
We have received your Notice of Public Hearing regarding
the above subject case, and since my property is
directly across the street from this application for
variance of the building code, I feel obligated to write
informing you of my objections.
I am of the opinion there is not enough parking space in
that particular block on Hopkins Street for the amount of
beds which are now available. The Garret, which is
adjacent to the above mentioned property, has far too
many beds for the parking space available, and your ap-
proval of this variance to the building code would just
complicate the situation.
My family and I spend most of the winter in Aspen, and
it is becoming more and more difficult for the snow plow
to effectively plow Hopkins Street in this block during
the many times when this is necessary.
I have no objection to slow growth in Aspen but I do feel
that parking is one of our greatest problems and should
be of the utmost concern to you in issuing not only new
building permits but especially in issuing variances to
the building code.
