1.The permit was issued after the architect redesigned the house to
accommodate the survey discrepancy pointed out, pompee!y,by the
building inspector.
2.Because of differing interpetations the Building Inspector has issued
a "STOP ORDER" on this project (almost complete). Even thou.gh.the .
same office APPROVED the "ROUGH-IN"inspection 5/9/74 with full know-
ledge of the question they themselves brought to our ~ttention. I
3.The Inspectors Office is, indeed,leaving us no alte~ative except to i
cut off the west "Mansard" roof leaving a flat-side;-abortion an eye-t!P "

APPLICATION IS MADE FOR A VARIANCE TO PERMIT A SECOND STORY
ADDITION TO HAVE A FRONT YARD SET BACK OF APPROXlMATELY SIX
FEET. The minimum required front yard is ten feet.

4. Hardship I is to the neighborhood and to the community esthically.
We hope that the Board of Adjustment will agree that nothing
or no one is served by making this building ugly.Certainly
cutting off the roof will not decrease occupancy and does not
effect the public health or safty and can not effect parking.
P.S.Since there were several points that came up at the first hearing
we would like to assist the the Board with the following clarifications I

BEFORE THE CITY OF ASPEN BOARD OF ADJUSTME1'T
TO ALL PROPERTY OWNERS AFFECTED BY TIm REQUESTED ZONING OR USE VARIANCE
DESCRIBED BELOW:
Pursuant to the Official Code of Aspen of June 25, 1962, as amended, a
public hearing will be held in the Council. Room, City Hall, Aspen, Colo-
rado, (or at such other place as the meeting may be then adjourned) to
consider an application filed with the said Board of Adjustment requesting
authority for variance f~om the provisions of the Zoning Ordinance, Chapter
24, Official Code of Aspen. All persons affected by the proposed variance
are invited to appear and state their views, protests or objections. If
you cannot appear personally at such meeting, then you are urged to state,.
yorrviews by letter, particularly if you have objection to such variance,
as the Board of Adjustment will give serious consideration to the opinions
of surrounding property owners and others affected in deciding whether to
grant or deny the request for variance.
