BEFORE THE CITY OF ASPEN BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
TO ALL PROPERTY OWNERS AFFECTED BY THE REQUESTED ZONING OR USE
VARIANCE DESCRIBED BELOW:
Pursuant to the Offi~ial Code of Aspen of June 25, 1962, as amend-
ed, a public hearing will be held in the Council Room, City Hall,
Aspen, Colorado, (or at such other place as the meeting may be
then adjourned) to consider an application filed with the said
Board of Adjustment requesting authority for variance from the
provisions of the Zoning Resolution, Title XI, Official Code of
Aspen. All persons affected by the proposed variance are invited
to appear and state their views, protests or objections. If you
cannot appear personally at such meeting, then you are urged to
state your views by letter, particularly if you have objection to
such variance, as the Board of Adjustment will give serious con-
sideration to the opinions of surrounding property owners and
others affected in deciding whether to grant or deny the request
for variance.

HE: Case No. 73-12
This letter is to advise you that I am very much
opposed to the request of O. Louis Wille to add a 2nd story
onto his building at 230 E. Main Street.
In the first place, the second story on the other
building should not have been built because there is not
sufficient parking place. Cars are parked in the alley con-
stantly. My residence is right in back of these units and
my entire fence has been broken down because of this. No one
has offered to do anything about this. In the wintertime when
I am gone--and we have seen this in the summer too--the cars
do not have enough room at times to leave through the alley and
they run into our fence. I have talked to Mr. Wille about this
and he was going to try to straighten it with his jeep but he
did not come back. This would only weaken my fence.
I also do not believe that this would be used for a
manager's unit. The same thing happened when the second floor
was built onto the drug store. It was first denied and then
permission was given for this room to be built but it was to be
used only for stora~e purposes. As everyone knows, this cer-
tainly is not true. Cars have no place to park and it has become
almost impossible to find a parking place in front of our house
because there is no parking place at the drug store. I believe
that in a very short time the same thing would happen to the
second story that Mr. Wille wants to build on. I feel certain
that this is only a way to get around this and that in a short
time it will be used for rental purposes. I do not believe there
is a manager there but Mr. ~ille gets the calls at his place of
residence.
