HomeMy WebLinkAboutlanduse case.boa.8th St & Hallam St.022-72 """ ,....., NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING Case No. 72 - 22 BEFORE THE CITY OF ASPEN BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT TO ALL PROPERTY OWNERS AFFECTED BY THE REQUESTED ZONING OR USE VARIANCE DESCRIBED BELOW: Pursuant to the Offi~ial Code of Aspen of June 25, 1962, as amend- ed, a public hearing will be held in the Council Room, City Hall, Aspen, Colorado, (or at such other place as the meeting may be then adjourned) to consider an application filed with the said Board of Adjustment requesting authority for variance from the provisions of the Zoning Resolution, Title XI, Official Code of Aspen. All persons affected by the proposed variance are invited to appear and state their views, protests or objections. If you cannot appear personally at such meeting, then you are urged to state your views by letter, particularly if you have objection to such variance, as the Board of Adjustment will give serious con- sideration to the opinions of surrounding property owners and others affected in deciding whether to grant or deny the request for variance. City of Aspen Aspen, Colorado GentlellEn: As the owner of the 12 unit apartllEnt at 8th & Hallam, Lots Q,R. &S of Block 4, we are asking for a variance of 5 feet on the west side of said property. This building was erected according to plans and sqecifications approved by the building department of the City of Aspen, and located according to the City of Aspen plot plans and survey. We felt we were within all codes and governing specs. Since this tillE we have been ordered by the court to remove two feet fran the west end of this apartment. This would return the building to the exact new established property line. According to code, we are required to leave a set back of 5 feet from the adj oining property line. Due to the fact that the building is desigrled with the center stair and the bearing walls are on this end, it is almost impossible to remove 7 feet from this end. We are therefore asking the planning and zoning board for a variance to set the west wall of the building exactly on the property line. Proposed changes are on the plans accornpaning this letter. We have submitted these plans to the building department and they have approved the structure as changed. We are sending the names and addresses of all adj oining property holders. If any other information is necessary we will be glad to provide it at any tillE.
