It was ok’d by the Planning Director. I’ll put a note in the building permit file stating that this unexpected discovery is
allowed to proceed with a 2” encroachment into the west setback.

Hi Amy.
Thanks again for your time on the phone this morning. Please let us know what you find out in regards to the Bay
Window projecting into the setback and if there is information we can provide to help facilitate the discussion further.
Looking forward to hearing back from you soon.
Best,
Andrew

Hi Amy.
Happy New Year! I hope you had a nice holiday.
We’ve measured an existing condition different than what was surveyed at 124 W Hallam Street. The Victorian, namely
the Bay Window on the West façade, is about 2” wider/deeper than previously documented. While we’ve been
operating under the assumption that the Bay Window was allowed to project into the setback up to 18”, we aimed to
locate it within the setbacks and wanted to check in with you before we proceed.
In general, the team thinks it’s best to preserve the relationship of the wood siding to the stone veneer.
We feel there are two (2) good options to consider:
(1) Bay Window projects into the West side yard setback 2” and the wood siding‐to‐stone base relationship is
maintained
(2) Stone veneer at base is pulled back 2” and Bay Window wood siding/sheathing above projects over setback line
We were wondering if we could get on the phone tomorrow morning to talk a bit more about the Bay Window at the
setback. Let us know if you’d like us to provide more information.
Thank you.
Andrew
