Materials were sampled to confirm or deny asbestos content. Materials are sampled using methods described in Section IV.C. of the CDPHE Regulation 8. Date of Inspection: 1.16.19 Date of Report: 1.18.19 Field Procedures and Analysis Methods: Guidelines used for the inspection were established by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in the Guidance for Controlling Asbestos Containing Materials in Buildings, Office of Pesticides and Toxic Substances, DOC #560/5-85-024 and 40 CFR Part 763, Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA). Field information was organized as per the AHERA concept of Homogeneous Area. A Homogeneous Area is defined as a suspect material of similar age, appearance, function and texture. Each material was grouped together as a specific Homogeneous Area, sampled and then assessed for condition. Bulk samples of suspect ACM were analyzed by Polarized Light Microscopy (PLM). Scope of work: Suspect materials in the work area were bulk sampled to confirm or deny asbestos content. Materials were sampled and inventoried for quantity, condition, and friability. 01/23/2019 11 Duroux Lane Basalt, CO 81621 p. (970) 927-3600 www.helpers.solutions Materials examined include: wall system – surfacing material and miscellaneous material Homogeneous Areas: TL1 – 5 // drywall with texture Sample Locations: TL1 // refrigerator wall mid-wall TL2 // outside bathroom above baseboard TL3 // mid-wall on bathroom wall behind door TL4 // corner wall opposite toilet TL5 // bathroom under light switch Conclusions: Laboratory analysis confirms that sample set TL1 – 5 is non-detect for asbestos. This material at the time of inspection was in good condition and non-friable. There is approximately 240 square feet of this material to be disturbed during the renovation. In current condition this material has a low potential for disturbance. Materials confirmed to be non-asbestos containing can be removed following general demolition procedures following OSHA standards and safe work practices. If more materials are to be affected and removed that are suspect ACM or ACBM which were not sampled - work must cease, and further sampling must occur.
