We have modified our approach and plan per your directive. I have attached the revised plan. What

HI Stephen and Mike,
Thank you for being patient with us while we got our ducks in a row internally. After discussing this
matter with both the building dept and the engineering dept., we feel that we have a unified answer
and can give you clear direction on a bridge plan that will meet each department’s needs. Both
engineering and building agree that they do not want the major structure holding up the bridge to
fail, and they do not want It to become a life safety issue or a river hazard. However, neither
department requires the railing to be upgraded at this point. Therefore, you are clear to upgrade
the beam and replace the decking boards, as the current plans show, but you will need to figure out
a way to maintain the railings that are in place now. If you have questions on this direction, please
feel free to contact me.
Cheers,
