I am writing this letter to confirm my involvement with this project as a structural engineer. I reviewed the proposed remodel drawings by bgDesign dated 3/8/19. I also inspected a small portion of the lower level with Evan Pletcher from The City of Aspen. The structure is a four story multi use building in a finished condition. The building was first constructed in 2015. The structure I was able to observe showed a steel structure with steel pans and slabs on the floor. The proposed floor plan change will occur entire at the lowest building level where a slab on grade condition exists. The proposed remodel includes removal of a section of partition wall at the lowest level office suite. There will also be new partition walls added in this space. The construction of additional partition walls is consistent with the type of loading expected in this structure and does not need any structural modifications. I did not perform any calculations nor did I observe any actual structural members. Based on the existing structural drawings and the work being done, it is my opinion that the proposed changes will not interfere with or alter the existing load path. Any framing conditions uncovered during demolition that are not consistent with those described here shall be brought to the attention of the engineer after to demolition. I have agreed to make myself available for consult when new information regarding the structure allows for a better assessment. Any structural modifications necessary will be provided at that time. Sincerely, Hein Brutsaert P.E. 03/13/2019 04/03/2019 justinh Silver Town Structures 307N AABC Aspen, CO 81611 03/13/2019
