PROVIDE MIN. AIR ENTRAINMENT OF 6% ON STAIRS AND EXTERIOR DECKS. REINFORCE STAIR LANDINGS AND CONCRETE DECKS WITH 6X6 W1.4 X W1.4 W.W.F. WELDED WIRE FABRIC SHALL CONFORM TO ASTM A185. LAP WIRE FABRIC REINFORCEMENT ONE FULL MESH PLUS 2" AT SIDES AND ENDS AND WIRE TOGETHER. ALTERNATE CONCRETE REINFORCING FOR CONCRETE FILL IS 3000 PSI IN 28 DAY FIBER REINFORCED CONCRETE RATHER THAN USING STD WOVEN WIRE FABRIC. STEEL DECKING FORM DECK SHALL BE 9/16" DEEP, 30" WIDE, 26 GAGE GALVANIZED STEEL, WITH MINIMUM YIELD STRESS OF 33 KSI, WITH MINIMUM S = 0.042 IN.3 AND I = 0.013 INA PER FOOT OF WIDTH. DECK SHALL BE ERECTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH MANUFACTURER'S RECOMMENDATIONS AS 3 SPAN MINIMUM AND SHALL BE ATTACHED USING THE FOLLOWING MINIMUM ATTACHMENTS: WELD DECK TO SUPPORTING MEMBERS WITH 4-1/2" DIAMETERS OR 3/8" X 3/4" PUDDLE WELDS PER SHEET AT ENDS, END LAPS AND AT INTERMEDIATE SUPPORTS, AND AT 20" O.C. AT PERIMETER BEAMS AND OPENING EDGES RUNNING PARALLEL TO THE DECK. SIDE SEAM ATTACHMENT SHALL BE BUTTON PUNCHES AT 20" O.C. ALL WELDING SHALL BE PERFORMED BY WELDERS EXPERIENCED IN LIGHT GAGE STEEL DECK WORK. Or Attach deck to steel angle support with self taping screw with galvanized washer at 8 inches on center. Comply with the steel decking institute standards. Deck fastening to the structural frame can be accomplished with welds, self drilling screws, air driven, or powder driven fasten- ers. A minimum of 1 12" of end bearing should be provided for deck. If there is less than 1 12" of bearing, additional fastening should be provided and the deck end load capacity should be checked. For deck that is intended to end lap (roof deck), the end lap location should be adjusted so the center of the lapped portion occurs over the support or, when supported by bar joists, over a top chord member. Only qualifed operators may use powder actuated tools; air actuated tools must be used by trained operators familiar with all safety procedures. ERECTION OF DECK AND JOB SITE SAFETY Attaching Special electric screw guns are used to drive self -drilling screws to attach deck to the structural frame. These screw guns are equipped with a clutch and depth limiting nosepiece to prevent over torquing. Screws are typically #12's or 1/4 inch diameter with a special drill point selected according to the total thickness of metal (deck plus frame) being joined.
