DESIGN GROUP, INC. (186). ANY SUBSTITUTIONS MUST BE APPROVED IN WRITING BY 186.
UNAPPROVED SUBSTITUTIONS ARE SUBJECT TO REPLACEMENT WITH SPECIFIED FIXTURES
AT THE ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR'S COST.
2. UPON RECEIPT OF DESIGN DOCUMENT SET, THE ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR IS TO VERIFY
ALL FIXTURE LEAD TIMES WITH DISTRIBUTOR, AND GET APPROVAL FROM THE GENERAL
CONTRACTOR THAT THESE LEAD TIMES ARE ACCEPTABLE. IF ANY FIXTURE LEAD TIMES ARE
NOT APPROVED BY THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR, THE ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR IS TO
CONTACT 186 IMMEDIATELY FOR ASSISTANCE WITH DECREASING LEAD TIMES OR FOR
ALTERNATE SPECIFICATION. ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR IS TO FOLLOW THIS PROTOCOL
THROUGHOUT PROJECT AS NEW DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATION SETS ARE ISSUED.
3. THE ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL APPLIANCE OUTLETS,
DISPOSALS, AND POWER FOR SYSTEMS NOT SHOWN ON 186 PLANS (IE. POWER FOR HVAC
EQUIPMENT, POOL EQUIPMENT, ETC.) INTERIOR DESIGNER IS TO SUPPLY APPLIANCE
PACKAGE FOR ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS. GENERAL CONTRACTOR IS TO SUPPLY ALL
POWER REQUIREMENTS FOR SYSTEMS NOT SHOWN ON PLANS. AUDIO/VIDEO CONTRACTOR
IS TO SUPPLY ALL POWER REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL A/V EQUIPMENT. ELECTRICAL
CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR MEETING ALL APPLICABLE CODES AND GFI
REQUIREMENTS.
4. ELECTRICAL AND GENERAL CONTRACTORS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR VERIFYING ALL
FIXTURE COUNTS PRIOR TO ORDERING. 186 IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY RESTOCKING
CHARGES DUE TO MIS-ORDERING OR CHANGES BY OTHERS AFTER THE INITIAL ORDER.
5. ALL FIXTURES SHALL BE INSTALLED ACCORDING TO MANUFACTURER SPECIFICATIONS
AND RECOMMENDATIONS.
6. ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR VERIFYING ALL IC, AIRTIGHT, AND NON-IC
FIXTURE LOCATIONS PRIOR TO ORDERING FIXTURES. INSULATION TO BE HELD A MINIMUM OF
3" FROM ALL NON-IC FIXTURES.
7. ALL FIXTURE HOUSING SLEEVES AND COLLARS THAT HOLD FIXTURE TRIMS ARE TO BE
COMPLETELY FLUSH WITH CEILING AT ELECTRICAL TRIM-OUT. TRIMLESS/FLANGELESS
RECESSED LIGHTS ARE TO BE MOCKED UP BY THE ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR PRIOR TO
INSTALLATION.
8. ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR IS TO NOTIFY 186 IF ANY FIXTURE LOCATIONS MUST MOVE
MORE THAN SIX INCHES DUE TO FIELD CONDITIONS.
9. ALL SCONCE AND CLOCK OUTLET LOCATIONS SHOWN ON DRAWINGS ARE APPROXIMATE.
EXACT LOCATIONS AND HEIGHTS OF WALL SCONCES AND CLOCK OUTLETS FOR PICTURE
LIGHTS ARE TO BE VERIFIED WITH THE INTERIOR DESIGNER AND/OR OWNER.
10. ALL LED STRIP INSTALLATIONS ARE TO BE INDIVIDUALLY FED IN LENGTHS NO LONGER
THAN THE MAXIMUM LENGTHS RECOMMENDED BY THE MANUFACTURER. ELECTRICAL AND
GENERAL CONTRACTOR ARE TO WORK TOGETHER TO ENSURE THERE ARE NO VISIBLE
WIRENUTS OR ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS.
11. ALL FIXTURES SHALL BE SUPPLIED WITH SPECIFIED LAMPS. WHERE BEAMSPREADS ARE
NOT SPECIFIED, SUPPLY WIDEST BEAMSPREAD AVAILABLE FOR PARTICULAR LAMP TYPE.
12. ALL WIRING IS SHOWN SYMBOLICALLY ON PLANS. ACTUAL REMOTE
TRANSFORMER/DRIVER LOCATIONS AND HOMERUNS ARE TO BE DETERMINED BY
ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR AND GENERAL CONTRACTOR. ALL REMOTE
TRANSFORMERS/DRIVERS SHALL BE TOROIDAL AND MOUNTED IN A LOCATION REMOVED
FROM THE ROOM'S AIRSPACE SUCH AS AN ATTIC, CABINET, OR CRAWLSPACE, UNLESS
OTHERWISE NOTED.
13. ALL SWITCHED OUTLETS SHOWN ON PLANS SHALL BE WIRED SUCH THAT THE OUTLET
MAY BE SWITCHED AT ANY TIME IN THE FUTURE. VERIFY ACTUAL OUTLETS TO SWITCH WITH
OWNER. ALL HALF-SWITCHED OUTLETS ARE TO HAVE SWITCHED SIDE AND HOT SIDE FED
FROM SAME BREAKER.
14. EXHAUST FAN LOCATIONS ARE SHOWN SYMBOLICALLY ON THE PLANS. VERIFY EXACT
EXHAUST FAN LOCATIONS WITH MECHANICAL CONTRACTOR.
15. MOTION SENSORS SHALL BE WALL-MOUNTED AT STANDARD SWITCH HEIGHT UNLESS
OTHERWISE NOTED.
16. ALL LOADS TO BE LANDED ON CONTROL DEVICES IN ORDER DRAWN ON PLANS.
17. CENTER LINE OF TYPICAL SWITCH AND WALLBOX DIMMER BOXES TO BE AT 48" A.F.F.
CENTER LINE OF TYPICAL CONTROL SYSTEM KEYPADS TO BE AT 54" A.F.F. (EXCEPT AT
BEDROOM HEADBOARD LOCATIONS, ABOVE COUNTERS, AND OTHER NON-TYPICAL KEYPAD
LOCATIONS) VERIFY WITH OWNER, ARCHITECT, AND INTERIOR DESIGNER. ELECTRICAL
CONTRACTOR AND A/V CONTRACTOR TO VERIFY ALL KEYPADS BESIDE BEDS ARE INSTALLED
CLEAR OF BED HEADBOARD.
18. ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR TO VERIFY DIMMER AND CONTROL LOCATIONS.

CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY LIGHTING CONTROL SYSTEM CONTRACTOR OF ANY LOADS
THAT HAVE BEEN MOVED FOR ANY REASON.
20. IN ORDER TO INSURE REMOTE ACCESS TO THE LIGHTING CONTROL SYSTEM
PROCESSOR(S), A PHONE OUTLET OR ETHERNET CONNECTION, AS WELL AS AN ELECTRICAL
OUTLET IS REQUIRED AT ALL PROCESSOR LOCATIONS.
21. ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR AND A/V CONTRACTOR ARE TO VERIFY ALL FINISHES OF
ELECTRICAL DEVICES, LIGHTING TRIMS, AND WALL-BOX DEVICES WITH THE INTERIOR
DESIGNER AND/OR OWNERS PRIOR TO ORDERING. IF THESE COLORS OR FINISHES ARE NOT
VERIFIED, ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR REPLACING EQUIPMENT AND
DEVICES AT NO COST TO THE OWNERS.
22. ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR TO PROVIDE (10) EXTRA OF 10 DEGREE SPOTS, 25 DEGREE
NARROW FLOODS, 40 DEGREE FLOODS, AND 60 DEGREE WIDE FLOODS FOR AIMING AND
SPARE STOCK FOR OWNER. PROVIDE FLOOD BEAMSPREADS FOR MR-16 LAMPS WHERE
BEAMSPREAD IS NOT DESIGNATED ON 186 BEAMSPREAD DRAWINGS. ELECTRICAL
CONTRACTOR TO REQUEST BEAMSPOREAD PLAN FROM 186 PRIOR TO PURCHASE AND
ELECTRICAL TRIM OUT OF MR16 LAMPHOLDERS.
23. ALL ADJUSTABLE ACCENTS TO BE AIMED STRAIGHT DOWN AT ELECTRICAL TRIM-OUT.
ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR TO PROVIDE LADDERS AND PERSONNEL TO ASSIST 186 AND
CLIENT WITH FINAL AIMING OF ADJUSTABLE FIXTURES WHEN ARTWORK AND FURNITURE ARE
IN PLACE. AIMING SESSIONS ARE TYPICALLY AFTER SUNSET.
24. ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR APPROPRIATE SIZING OF ALL
ELECTRICAL CONDUCTORS. 12-VOLT SYSTEMS SUCH AS MONORAIL, CABLE, AND LOW VOLT
TRACK SHALL BE FED WITH STRANDED WIRE OF AN APPROPRIATE GAUGE FOR LIGHTING
LOAD SHOWN ON PLANS. WIRING SHALL BE SIZED SUCH THAT VOLTAGE DROP TO LOW
VOLTAGE SYSTEMS IS NOT GREATER THAN 10%. IF NECESSARY, USE MULTI-TAP
TRANSFORMER TO ACHIEVE REQUIRED VOLTAGE AT EACH LIGHT.
ALL REFERENCES TO ELECTRICAL OR LOW VOLTAGE SYSTEMS THAT ARE NOT DIRECTLY
RELATED TO LIGHTING ARE ON THE PLANS FOR REFERENCE ONLY. ACTUAL FINAL LOCATIONS
