The close proximity of the drywell to shoring prevents this. The geotechnical engineer should provide documentation that the drywell will drain appropriately out of the sides and that drainage can occur at the required rate calculated by the civil engineer with the shoring walls and impervious liner in place. Additionally, the geotechnical engineer will need to confirm that there will be proper support between drywell and shoring that will prevent sinking/caving of the soils & sidewalk above. The existing water service line will be routed to the west of the proposed drywell to mitigate any potential conflicts during construction. See sheet C-104 for proposed water service layout. The drainage pipes in question will be installed after the drywell and shoring. The drainage pipes depth of bury is above the proposed micropile wall; no conflict will occur. The micropile wall layout has been adjusted for the 18" of screened rock to surround the drywell. The drywell will be backfilled with screened rock, a self compacting material. The drywell detail on sheet C-501 has been modified to reflect this. The geotechnical engineer has supplied a memorandum stating the drywell can properly infiltrate through the micropile wall towards the North Street ROW and that the backfill material of screened rock will not allow for any sinking/caving surrounding the drywell as part of this submittal. The existing sidewalk will be removed and replaced once the drywell and all other construction is complete. 5/4/2018
