Helpers Disaster Restoration LLC (CDPHE ACF-21564)
11 Duroux Lane Basalt, CO 81621
Building Inspector CERT# AE-16-055-BI-R-03
(CDPHE #20929) Expires 12.7.17
Background:
Helpers Disaster Restoration LLC has performed limited bulk sampling for asbestos in areas to be renovated.
Date of Inspection: 1.24.17
Date of Report: 1.27.17
Field Procedures and Analysis Methods:
Guidelines used for the inspection were established by the Environmental Protection
Agency (EPA) in the Guidance for Controlling Asbestos Containing Materials in
Buildings, Office of Pesticides and Toxic Substances, DOC #560/5-85-024 and 40 CFR
Part 763, Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA).
Field information was organized as per the AHERA concept of Homogeneous Area. A
Homogeneous Area is defined as a suspect material of similar age, appearance,
function and texture. Each material was grouped together as a specific Homogeneous
Area, sampled and then assessed for condition.
Bulk samples of suspect ACM were analyzed by Polarized Light Microscopy (PLM).

Scope of work:
Proposed renovations deem sampling for Asbestos necessary, as demolition and
removal of such materials will render them friable. Suspect Asbestos containing
building materials were sampled and inventoried for quantity, condition,
and friability.
Materials examined include:
Drywall / Surfacing Material
Homogeneous Areas:
BT1 – 3 // drywall
( Miscellaneous Material )
B1 – 2 // texture
( Surfacing Material )
Sample Locations:
BT1 // under sauna control panel
BT2 // above toilet, behind picture
BT3 // above medicine cabinet at corner on right hand side
B1 // under vent fan cover
B2 // above medicine cabinet
Conclusions:
All materials sampled have a high potential for disturbance based upon plans for renovation.
Laboratory analysis confirms that sample sets BT1 – 3, and B1 – 2, contain no asbestos. This material at the
time of inspection was non-friable and in good condition. The amount of material to be disturbed is unknown
until plans are decided upon for renovations.
The homogenous areas BT1-3 and B1-2 are limited to the bathroom drywall and texture – specifically the
areas of proposed renovations. Materials sampled were the outer most layer, if layers beneath are uncovered
– work should cease and these new materials should be sampled for Asbestos.
If other areas are to be renovated, they too will need to be sampled accordingly.
Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
