My previous comment asked for
U factors of 0.35 and 0.60 for the
window and skylight
respectively. This project was
submitted on April 21, 2017,
after the new 2015 code
adoption date of April 10. I
mistakenly referenced the old
code. You will actually need to
meet the requirements of the
2015 IECC as amended by
Ordinance 40, 2016, which
requires U factors of 0.28 and
0.55 for the skylight and window.
I apologize for the confusion and
inconvenience.

Provide the U factor(s)of the window/skylightassembly. The windowportion, including theframe, must be 0.35 orless. The skylight 0.60or less. FP Response: This chart has been removed and a stamped header detail is located on A-502 that will meet the City of Aspen snow load.

Ryan,
Thank you for contacting AIA and sorry for the delay in response. The NFRC performance requirement
with Aspen has become a challenge for many this year. The .60 system is not a problem, but the .35
system u-value is tough with an aluminum system.
Since all of our skylight and greenhouse units are 100% custom – we do not have NFRC stickers. Wehave submitted our NFRC simulations, which have passed but lately a few city projects they are
requiring the certified simulation data.
We are in process to complete the ASHRAE calculations, especially since this requirement has comedown to Vail… Boulder and Denver.
I attached our general greenhouse details and NFRC simulation data.
