specified herein or not. The granting of a permit does not presume to give authority to violate or cancel the provisions of any other state or local law regulating construction or the performance of
construction. It is my responsibility to review the approved plans and any comments that are contained thereon and see that the structure and/or project is built in compliance with all applicable codes.
USE TAX:The General Contractor or Owner Builder is required to pay a Use Tax Deposit to both the City of Aspen (2.1%, first $100,000 is exempt) and Pitkin County (0.5%,no exemption)on the building
permit at the time of issuance. All sub-permits pulled under a building permit are paid by this deposit payment and should not pay use tax.

Changes to the permit occurred for three reasons;
a. value engineering b. changes driven by site conditions following excavation and c. refinements to the
HVAC design.
Value engineering items include:
1. eliminating south property line retaining wall.
2. raised corner of 'L' shaped interior court walls by 16".
3. eliminate AIA industries greenhouse construction; replace with solid roofs and
a skylight at connectors.
4. replace all Quantum windows with Loewen. New skylight by Wasco.
5. revised roof framing - eliminate tube steel roof bents and replace with LVL
2x8's.
6. elimination of outdoor fireplace and concrete bench @ lower level terrace.
Changes based on new site conditions include a revised drainage design- (ref.
civil):
1. pump vault changed location
2. discharge line routed N instead of S.
court-well yard trench drain changed inlets.
3. an alternate pump is specified
Refinements to the HVAC design include:
1. ERV intake location changed.
2. radiant heat in lower level slab is provided.
3. boiler location changed.
4. reduced load in dining room and stair well following elimination of greenhouse construction.
5. Elimination of make-up air (MUA). Range hood is lees than 400cfm.
