The change is approved. From: William Lewis <wlewis@billposs.com> Sent: Thursday, January 17, 2019 4:03 PM To: Amy Simon <amy.simon@cityofaspen.com> Cc: Les Rosenstein <lrosenstein@billposs.com> Subject: RE: 534 East Cooper (Boogies) Amy, We truly appreciate you taking the time to look at this. (see attached) We are proposing this change to maintain a continuity of color and reflectivity in regards to the glazing on the building. Windows C124 and C125 on the East elevation are fairly large. The window manufacturer was going to have to shift to triple pane glazing system for these two windows to meet the energy requirements. This would result in coatings that would slightly shift the color of the glazing and also make them more reflective than normal. We would all like to avoid increasing reflectivity in windows, so we have worked with the window manufacturer to get these two windows back down to a double pane glazing system that has no reflective coatings. To achieve this, we had to make the glazing panel smaller. Adding the horizontal muntin’s would allow us to make two glazing panels for these windows and use coatings that are the same coloration as the rest of the buildings windows. The double pane system being used everywhere else is just slightly tinted gray due to the coating systems being used, but no more reflective than normal glass. We are showing the proposed window muntin’s with red lines in the clouded areas of the attached pdf. These muntin’s are at the same level as the muntin’s on the front corner of the building. We are also proposing to show them on the North elevation (alley side) windows C126 and C127 to maintain that datum’s continuity. Please let us know if you have any questions. I will get a new monitor assigned asap as well. (Willis Pember) We Have a very small design change question on the Boogies building that we need to have reviewed. How should we handle this situation, and what will be proper path of communication? Should I also assume that the ‘proper path’ of communication would be relatively the same for 533 W Hallam? Hope you are having a great day!
