Please see the questions below pertaining to the vertical brace structural steel.
5. There are (5) columns on Grid I.9. the column on I.9 & 2.1 is a stacked column, where the W10x30 bears on the low
column and the upper column bears on the W10x30. However, S103 appears to want stacked columns on the remaining
(4) columns to the south of 2.1. Please confirm these (4) columns are to extend from the foundation up-to the roof in one
piece, and the beams are to frame into the columns with shear tabs.
6. There is a column on Grid G.9 & 4.9. S103 depicts this as a stacked column where the W12x19 on Grid 4.9 runs over
the column. Please confirm this column is to extend from the foundation up-to the roof in one piece, and the beams are to
frame into the column with shear tabs.
7. There is a column on Grid G.9 & 5.9. S103 calls for a stacked column with an HSS5x5x1/4 low, the W14 bearing on top
of the HSS5x5x1/4, and then a HSS5x5x5/16 bearing on top of the W14. Please confirm whether there is to actually have
stacked columns or if the HSS5x5x1/4 column is to extend from the foundation up-to the roof in one piece, and the beams
are to frame into the column with shear tabs.

5. The columns at Grids 2.1 and 3 are stacked, the others are continuous.
6. This column is not continuous.
7. They are stacked columns. The lower column should also be 5/16" wall thickness.
