Per detail 5 on sheet L6.01 the hand rail on the south side of the building is to be anchored to the face of the south wall. The detail shows the site rail being anchored to a concrete wall but the site rail will actually be anchored to the split face block. Detail 5 also shows a dimension of 1 1/2" inch between the face of the wall and the closest edge of the hand rail. Because the split face block is not a flat surface, can the dimension be made larger to create more room between a visitor's fingers and the split face block? Please provide a method of securing the site rail to the split face block. Please also confirm the dimension between the face of wall and the closest face of site railing can be enlarged. Suggestion Answer Date Answered: 1/23/2019 ANCHOR SITE HAND RAIL TO SPLIT-FACE CMU VENEER BY DRILLING AND EPOXYING THE 3/8-INCH STEEL ROD INTO THE SPLIT-FACE CMU (1-INCH MINIMUM EMBEDMENT). THE HANDRAIL CAN EXTEND NO MORE THAN 4-INCHES PAST THE FACE OF THE SPLIT-FACE CMU VENEER. 2019.01.22 - JONATHAN WEST Prolog Manager Printed on: 1/23/2019 FCI_Integration Page 1 wall will be split face block
