Question Date Required: 7/26/2018
During the week of 7/9 - 7/13, FCI/Aspen Digger pot-holed the existing water line(s) at the intersection of Castle Creek
Rd., as well as the sanitary sewer main line that runs along the east side of Castle Creek Rd. Here are elevation shots and
other pertinent information on these existing lines from Aspen Digger:
1. The sewer main was east of Castle Creek edge of asphalt approximately 18". The pipe size/material was 10" SDR 35.
The elevation was 7991.97 at top of pipe.
2. The water main was in exact location marked. It is 12" cast iron and elevation was 7994.31 at top of pipe.
3. There is a 4" raw water line west of 12" water main and elevation is 8000.18 at top of pipe.
Please review this existing utility information and advise if there is any need to revise the design of the new sanitary sewer
line for the project.
Suggestion
Answer Date Answered:
1- The elevation of the sewer line roughly matches our design; however, the location is further west than expected. The
design of Sanitary MH-3 will need to be adjusted, but the remainder of the sewer main will remain unchanged. Since this is
a sensitive location with the grade change and proximity to the road, could we get some survey shots from the surveyor
performing the construction staking. We would just need the location where the sewer main was found (if this location is
still identifiable), adjacent edge of asphalt and a shot to the east and west 2' of the sewer main. This would help us ensure
that the correct manhole is ordered and that the lid is at grade.
2 - No change
3 - How far to the west of the water main was this discovered, could we get a surveyed shot of this location? This should
not affect our designs, but I cannot say for sure without knowing the exact location as no raw water lines were shown on
the original survey.
