4 CONCEPT DESIGN
4.1 INTRODUCTION
The following section includes drawings showing the approved plans of the existing Wheeler
Opera House and its proposed expansion, as well as building sections for the preferred design
approach. The new building features: a 275 seat theater, lobby, dressing rooms and other
support spaces below grade; a new box office and loading dock area on the ground floor; an
expanded main theater lobby, a multi -purpose room, and dressing rooms on the second floor;
administrative offices and an orchestra level lobby on the next floor; and three apartments on
the top floor to accommodate employees and visiting artists.
