HomeMy WebLinkAboutresolution.council.024-22 RESOLUTION#024 (Series of 2022) A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ASPEN CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS GENERATED THROUGH THE RENEWABLE ENERGY MITIGATION PROGRAM. WHEREAS, on December 13, 1999,the City Council approved Ordinance No. 55 Adopting the Aspen/Pitkin Energy Conservation Code; and WHEREAS, the-Aspen/Pitkin Energy Conservation Code allows that funds collected through the Renewable Energy Mitigation Program (REMP)be spent in accordance with a resolution passed by the Aspen City Council; and WHEREAS,the Community Office for Resource Efficiency (CORE) uses REMP funds to support City Council's carbon reduction goals and community greenhouse gas emissions reductions through the delivery of programs, tools and services; and WHEREAS, at its meeting on December 16, 2021,the Board of Trustees of CORE approved the REMP spending proposals described herein; and WHEREAS,the specific funding amounts total $1,250,000 and are assigned in the following way: • Building IQ Development and Implementation $388,000 • LMI/Income Qualified Energy Efficiency (APCHA) $362,000 • Energy Efficiency (Commercial & Residential) $288,000 • Strategy, Planning & Consultation $25,000 • Marketing, Communications&Engagement $50,000 • Indirect/Administrative Overhead $137,000 WHEREAS,the City Council of the City of Aspen finds that the funding requests are appropriate; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO: Section I That the City Council of the City of Aspen hereby approves the funding request from the Community Office for Resource Efficiency that sets forth the terms and conditions of the use of Renewable Energy Mitigation Program funds, a description of which is incorporated herein. 1 Dated: March 8, 2021 Torre, Mayor I,Nicole Henning, duly appointed and acting City Clerk do certify that the foregoing is a true and accurate copy of that resolution adopted by the City Council of the City of Aspen, Colorado, at a meeting held March 8, 2021. c Nicole Henning, City Clerk 2
