You're back! Good choice. Q In your absence,we did a site visit with Lance to look at the front balcony. Below is a summary of our discussion. Let me know if you have additional questions. 1 Replacing the rotting soffit under the balcony. 05/04/2021 ASPEN BUILDING DEPARTMENT • It appears that this entire structure was extended during the 80's remodel and the soffit is not historic material. On a larger note,there may be an issue with proper drainage that is causing water to pool on the deck. The rotting wood should be replaced. 2. Replacing damaged rail cap on the balcony. • Looking at historic records and building files, staff is comfortable with the rail cap being replaced. Please note that the Building Department may have dimensional requirements to consider. 3. Realign the letters on the side of the balcony that spell out"Hotel Jerome". • Direction was already given that this may be realigned. The existing letters are not historic.
