HomeMy WebLinkAboutresolution.council.049-24RESOLUTION #049 (Series of 2024) A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO, APPROVING A CONTRIBUTION TO HEADQUARTERS TO SUPPORT MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES AND OTHER RELATED EXPENSES. WHEREAS, there has been submitted to the City Council a request for funds in the amount of $65,000 for HeadQuarters, which has a mission to support the safety and security of individuals and families in need of mental health services; anA , WHEREAS, the Aspen City Council discussed the contribution at the March 12, 2024 Council meeting; and, V�►THEREAS, the funds would be distributed in the following manner, $50,000 to the HQ Mental Health Fund, $5,000 to HeadQuarters as a 10% administration cost, $5,000 to HeadQuarters for work on program improvements, and $5,000 to HeadQuarters to be spent on an awareness campaign; and, VUH]EREAS, tobacco tax. dollars are collected for financing health and human services, tobacco related health issues and addiction and substance abuse education and mitigation. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO, That the City Council of the City of Aspen hereby approves the contribution to the HQ Mental Health Fund in the amount of D65,000 to be distributed with $50,000 to the mental health fund, $5,000 to HeadQuarters as a 10% administration cost, $5,000 to HeadQuarters for work on program improvements, and $5,000 to HeadQuarters to be spent on an awareness campaign, to be paid for through tobacco tax revenue, and does hereby authorize the City Manager to complete the request as she deems appropriate pursuant to this resolution.
