RE: Response#2 to Building Department Comments ❑ ENCLOSURE
501 East Dean Street
0019-2022-BCOM
Dear Linzhi
Thank you for your review and the opportunity to respond to your comments. Please find responses to
your comments for 501 E Dean St—0019-2022-BCOM below in blue.
1. Your ComCheck is still incorrect. Many of the fixtures in the audit do not match your interior plans
and the fixture wattages are incorrect.
The previous plans did have some areas with an additional design background and some of the luminaire
tags were in conflict.
2. There was no sign of(E)DNLT.• (E)DNLT or(E) COVE: (E) COVE on the plan or cut sheets.
Plans have been revised to show only the correct tags, which correspond with the luminaire schedule,
specification sheets, and compliance documents. (E) was used on our plans to denote existing lighting
that is to remain. We have added some additional call-outs on the plan and compliance documents to
clarify this. Specification sheets are not available for existing lighting however we are using the
transformer wattage of the existing luminaires in our compliance calculations.
3. Additionally, please specify the area categories more clearly for accurate floor area. It appears the
sheets you are installing lights are "main entry," "owner's lobby level 2" and "guest corridors" so
providing the area for these specific areas would be recommended.
Area categories for each area have been clarified and associated room names and numbers were added to
correspond with the plans.
4. Lastly.please include the owner and agent and sign the compliance statement on your next ComCheck.
For clarification on what is needed, please directly reach out to Denis, (970) 429-2761.
Owner information is now included and compliance documents are signed by the engineer.

5. Did we hit the trigger? The form asks how much is being altered...if a certain amount...the whole
building needs to comply.
Compliance documents now show exactly which areas are included in the scope of work and document
the amount of lighting being replaced in each space. Where less than 10% of the lighting is not replaced,
these areas are noted as exempt per Section C503 Alterations. New lighting systems that are apart of the
alterations comply with all sections of C405.
6. Spaces need to match. (language for reference)
Area categories are included with specific room names to clarify exactly which space is included in the
alterations and the specific compliance for each area.
7. One corridor is listed at 9,000 sgft?
Electrical plans show a typical guest corridor for renovation, however all guest corridors are included in
the project. Each separate guest corridor space is listed with the associated renovations and corresponds
to scope noted on the architectural and interior design drawings.
