The building is a mobile home with several sections of new frame construction. The area in which the proposed project is taking place is the original mobile home construction. This section consists of a low-pitched simple rafter system that spans from the east exterior wall to the east hallway wall,the full width of the bathroom area where the new work is located. This span is 8'-6" outside to outside of the supporting walls. The interior walls to be removed are parallel to the span of the rafters and therefore nonbearing walls. No alterations are proposed for the supporting walls or other areas of the structure. Once the permit is issued,the existing structure in the work area will be completely exposed and reviewed. If conditions are other than expected,additional engineering will be undertaken if needed. In addition,any deteriorated existing structural members found during the project will be re-engineered and replaced as part of this project,in the area of disturbance.
