On June 11th,2019,David Coon,Aspen City Forester,performed an onsite inspection of 1 additional tree at 183 Red Mountain Rd.being requested for removal.The reason for removal is in order to install the retaining wall for the temporary access ramp down into the property,which had to shift to the South with comparison to the approved plans.This is the only tree affected by this shift of the wall position.When the tree is removed the TPZ will change slightly where the tree in question is to be removed.Instead of jogging out around the tree as shown on the plans,it will continue in straight line from East to West with the fence on either side of the jog out. The tree which the applicant would like to remove is a 6"Narrowleaf Cottonwood.The entire top of the tree is dead starting at about 8 ft up where there is a major wound on the trunk.While the tree may have some temporary habitat value,it will not remain for a significant period of time as it is likely to decline further will and not ever grow to maturity This tree lies on the South side of the property outside of the riparian zone of Hunter Creek.
