Assembly U-values as specified by architect.
Snowmelt:
Area: TBD
Flux: 125btuh/Sq. Ft.
HVAC Systems:
Heating: Primary space heating will be achieved through a hydronic radiant floor
heating system. Condensing boilers (Lochinvar or similar) will distribute heating water
to each zone utilizing a Warm Board radiant floor distribution product. Supplemental
heating for the master bedroom will be provided by the heat pump unit with an
integrated electric heating element. All distribution will occur through
hydronic/refrigerant piping.
A recessed hydronic cabinet unit heater is anticipated to provide heating in the garage.
Per the owners request supplemental heat will not be supplied in any other zones,
including the entry.
Cooling: Cooling will be provided utilizing a multi zone heat pump system. Fan coils
will consist of wall mounted units and recessed/ducted units. Installation location for
the new condensing units is anticipated in a similar location as the existing condensing
units. All distribution will occur through refrigerant piping.
Controls: A home automation system with user interface is anticipated (specified by
others) to allow for control of HVAC zones setpoints and 7-day programming
schedules. Separate HVAC control system(s) will interface with the home automation
system on the backend. Individual control of HVAC pieces/parts/valves/capacity
control/etc., will be controlled by the HVAC control system(s) as needed. It is assumed
that the home automation interface will take the place of the “thermostat” though one
can be provided if desired.
Ventilation: Whole house ventilation will be provided by an ERV system. This system
may provide exhaust to select bathrooms. Bathrooms not exhausted by the whole
house ventilation system will have dedicated bathroom exhaust fans. Exterior
intake/exhaust terminations for these systems will be coordinated with the architect to
maintain required clearances.
Kitchen Hood: An exterior exhausting kitchen hood (specified by others) is
anticipated to be under 400 cfm. A dedicated/interlocked make up air system will be
required if the hood exhausts over 400 cfm.
Zones: Refer to attached zone layout.
