GALENA ST. ASPEN, CO 81611 RE: CHANGE ORDER SCOPE-OF-WORK NARRATIVE (PERMIT #0253.2018.ARBK) New-Build PRIVATE RESIDENCE • GRADING & DRAINAGE PLAN REVISION 813 W. SMUGGLER STREET ASPEN, CO 81611 TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: To correct unacceptably high finished grade levels against an architecturally significant feature of the home, the General Contractor, MM-Eight Construction, has asked us to show site retaining walls along the Si Johnson Ditch easement, including the resultant adjacent area-well, which will require sub-grade drainage. The sub-grade drainage in this area was not shown on previous submittals, as it was intended to be surface drainage. To that end, High Country Engineering, our Civil Engineering consultant, and Sin-BAD are herewith submitting this Change Order application regarding our “RL3” project at 813 W. Smuggler. We propose to install a low, flush-to-existing-grade, steel plate (with steel tube/ pipe soldier piles) retaining wall paralleling the ditch easement. On the inside of the retaining wall (house-side), sub-grade, not surface, drainage is required to remove water from this area. The sub-grade ties into the existing site drainage system. High Country Engineering has revised their Grading, Drainage & Erosion Control drawing, attached herewith, which is noted as Issue #3, Change Order #1, dated 04/14/2020, and labeled “Change Order - Grading & Storm Pipes”. Along with the revised Civil drawing, we include the following: 1. Building Permit Application - Cover Sheet; 2. Building Permit Contact Sheet; & 3. HOA Compliance Form.
