Note: The following assembly will achieve the 24” on center stud configuration by the addition of
horizontal furring strips set at 24” positions.
Fireplace Wall Configuration:
Note: The 5/8” gypsum drywall will be separated from the steel studs, glass fiber insulation and 5/8”
drywall. This will only have the result of increasing the STC rating.
Shower Wall Configuration:
Note: The following assembly will achieve the 24” on center stud configuration by the addition of
horizontal furring strips set at 24” positions.
The above shower wall configuration will be then covered with Durock cement tile backer board and
ceramic tile.
