RE: 232 E Main St – Aspen Colorado
Dear Mr. Avila:
It is my understanding that the inspector from the City of Aspen is requesting confirmation that the above referenced
project has been constructed in accordance with the project specifications which includes structural drawings
completed by K.ENG LLC, foundation and masonry walls, as well as those completed by Western Wood Structures,
Inc., glulam and CLT framing, whereby K.ENG LLC is the Engineer of Record.
During construction of this project, K.ENG LLC has been provided with the following:
1. Shop drawing submittals including foundation reinforcement, concrete mix designs, and miscellaneous
masonry submittals which have been reviewed and approved as noted by K.ENG LLC.
2. Testing results for concrete and masonry grout compressive strengths which confirm compliance with project
specifications.
3. Masonry observation reports completed by Kumar & Associates, Inc. confirming masonry construction in
accordance with project specifications.
4. Multiple RFI’s provided by the contractor addressing specific structure issues and questions that developed
during their work and answered by K.ENG LLC.
5. Shop drawings by Western Wood Structures, Inc. confirming wood core structure supported by building
foundations completed by K.ENG LLC.
In addition, a letter from Western Wood Structures, Inc. has been provided to the contractor confirming that the
glulam and CLT framing (delegated design) has been constructed in accordance with their specifications.
Based on the above, it is my understanding that the above referenced project has been constructed in accordance
with the construction documents
