1. Introduction
The drainage system found at 395 Thunderbowl Lane collects all impervious runoff from the lot with yard
drains, patio drains, trench drains and driveway drains and directs the collected runoff to two rain gardens.
Appendix A, attached, provides a survey of the drainage components. As the system is described below,
portions of the survey have been enlarged and presented as Figures to depict drainage components locations.
2. Component Maintenance
2.1 Drains
There are thirteen area drains and eight trench drain onsite. At least annually, the drain grates should be
removed and any sediment, trash, and other debris should be removed. It may be necessary to use a
wet/dry vac to first pump the drains in order to adequately remove all accumulated sediment. Figure 1,
depicts the location of the drain located around the exterior of the house.

2.2 Bio Retention Area (Rain Garden)
At the northern extent of the northern lawn area are two rain gardens. The rain gardens should be main-
tained per the City of Aspen’s URMP recommendations. These recommendations are provided below.
