Item No. Comment/Response Summary
LLL – Aspen, CO – SS COMCheck
1 Comment The square footages for the sales floor and fit rooms exceed what I
am measuring on the plans. Please verify the spaces you're
measuring and revise as needed.
Response • Square footages have been revised to match architect’s
drawings.
2 Comment The dressing rooms do not qualify as sales area, you cannot claim
the additional wattage allowance for retail highlighting in these
areas.
Response • Dressing room area is no longer used to claim additional
wattage for retail highlighting.
3 Comment Mirror lighting in dressing rooms is exempt from the total interior
lighting power calculations per IECC C405.4.1 exception 1.7, you
can mark them as such on this report to exempt the wattage (this is
in the code but ComCheck does not seem to list the exem ption for it,
I'd suggest selecting "lighting integral to equipment" as that seems to
be the closest option to what the code actually lists.
Response • Dressing Room mirrors now incorporate “Lighting Integral to
Equipment” exemption in COMcheck.

4 Comment Fixture RF3-S is not being accounted for on the ComCheck, this
report needs to take into account all light fixtures in the areas of the
alteration (both existing to remain and new). Alternatively you can
exclude entire areas where you are not altering lighting but you need
to exclude that square footage from your areas when figuring the
allowable watts.
Response • Fixture RF3-S is now accounted for in COMcheck. Per our
phone call, the Sales Floor is now split into two separate
areas, existing and new. COMcheck calculation no longer
includes existing Sales Floor square footage.
5 Comment Are all of the LS1 strip lights for all the dressing rooms and electrical
room to be run off a single 100W and 300W driver as this report
implies? Please clarify and revise the report and plan if needed.
Response • Per our phone call, all LS1 LED strip lights are served from
(1) 100W driver and (1) 300W driver. This is reflected in the
COMcheck.
6 Comment I cannot tell which runs of track lighting these entries are meant to
correspond to, the circuits identified here do not match what is
shown on the plan and neither do the lengths called out. Provide a
cutsheet for the current limiting device called out for track lighting #5.
Response • Switch leg of track now specified in COMcheck. See
attached for cutsheet of the current limiting device, Cooper
Greengate TracKeeper.
7 Comment In order to get the retail display window exemption the area must be
enclosed by ceiling height partitions (C405.4.1 exception 13), I do
not see where this is applicable.
Response • Retail display window exemption no longer taken.

8 Comment The typical fitting room doors are required to provide a minimum of
32” clear width per IBC 1010.1.1, please revise to demonstrate
compliance and specifically call out that dimension.
Response • 2/A312 - Dimension added to Fitting Room door opening.
9 Comment Per your drawings I measure 1617 SF of space on the main level
(showroom) and 487 SF on the lower level (stockroom). Please
revise either the drawings or your occupant load calculations so that
they are consistent.

Response • Please see revised areas on sheet A140 and LOD
dimensions on sheet D110 for clarity. Total square footages
now match up with numbers on sheet G003 for occupancy
load calculations.

10 Comment Demonstrate how you will be providing compliant lighting controls
per IECC C405.2. Occupant sensors are required in the dressing
rooms (C405.2.1) and the main sales floor requires either a time
switch control or an occupant sensor (C405.2.2).
Response • Per our phone call and per architect’s drawings, fit room
partitions are not floor-to-ceiling and thus the fit rooms do
not require occupancy sensor control.
11 Comment Identify circuit/switch legs for lighting that corresponds to what is
shown on the ComCheck report. Currently I cannot tell which track
lighting entries on the report are meant to represent the lights shown
here. Fixtures that are being used to claim additional wattages
allowances for highlighting retail must be automatically controlled
separately from the general lighting (C405.4.2.2.1), show
compliance with this.
Response • Switch legs of existing track lighting now indicated on plans.
Only the new set of track in the fit room area is used to claim
additional wattage allowance for retail highlighting. All
fixtures in Sales Floor and Fit Room areas are on time-of-
day control. See Sheet E012 for details.
