THE CITY OF ASPEN LIGHTING CODESECTION 26.575.150 01/22/2019
Plantings shall bedone in conjunctionwith City Forester
approvals with on-sitemeetings to appeaseneighbors, Five Trees

and City Code.
See L10-02. The on-slope tree planting details indicate a firmly formed topsoil saucer around the downslope
side of the tree planting. This strategy will reduce the incidence of erosion.
See Landscape Planting Notes. A note is added for the landscape contractor to add boulder elements to the
down slope side of rootballs in some instances.
See Landscape Planting Notes. The tree planting strategy reflected in the landscape plans required the
approval of the 5 Trees Design Review Board. A note is added to include both the City Forester and a
representative from the 5 Trees Design Review Board to participate in a review of the tree staking prior to
installation.

For all trees on slopes:
the uphill side of root

grade of the uphill side
and a retaining wall
must be built on the
down hill side
See Landscape Planting Notes. All planting detail drawings illustrate that the top of root balls are installed at
finished grade. The planting details note that root balls are to be installed on undisturbed subgrade soil,
which will prevent settling from occurring. A note is added to further clarify this idea.
